European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen referred to the Cyprus-Greece electricity interconnection (Great Sea Interconnector, GSI) in a post, following the trilateral meeting he held on Thursday in Luxembourg with Cyprus' Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Michael Damianos, and Greek Minister for Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou.
"Glad to hear from Greek and Cypriot Ministers that the EU-backed GSI is advancing. A key strategic energy link, one of our EU Energy Highways, that will end Cyprus' energy isolation while contributing to regional security of energy supplies, market integration and lower prices," the Commissioner said in his post
