At CARDET, workplace mental health and wellbeing are considered organisational and strategic priorities. Rather than relying solely on standalone wellbeing initiatives, the organisation has been developing an evidence-informed and preventive approach that integrates psychosocial risk assessment, employee participation, organisational data, leadership development and targeted workplace interventions.
This work is embedded within CARDET’s Thriving Workplace Framework, which aims to strengthen the organisational conditions that support employee wellbeing, psychological safety, sustainable performance and healthier ways of working.
As part of this ongoing journey, CARDET has:
- Conducted a psychosocial risk assessment to identify key organisational risk factors.
- Gathered employee insights through surveys, ongoing feedback and organisational dialogue.
- Facilitated collective reflection during the organisation’s Staff Retreat.
- Identified six organisational priorities in collaboration with employees.
- Introduced targeted actions to address identified areas of improvement.
- Strengthened governance and shared responsibility for workplace wellbeing.
- Continued to measure progress, evaluate outcomes and refine its approach.
Six Organisational Priorities
Through consultation and dialogue with its people, CARDET identified six priority areas to guide its workplace development efforts:
- Leadership Excellence & Consistency
- Workload Management
- Planning & Prioritisation
- Meeting Effectiveness
- Career Progression
- Recognition
These priorities reflect CARDET’s commitment to addressing the organisational factors that influence employees’ daily experiences, wellbeing and ability to perform sustainably.
The Thriving Workplace Framework promotes a shared approach to workplace wellbeing, recognising the contribution of leadership, People & Culture, managers, employees and other internal structures in creating a supportive and healthy working environment.
Recognition of a Collective Effort
The award also acknowledges the contribution of CARDET employees, whose experiences, feedback and participation have helped shape the organisation’s approach to psychosocial risk prevention and workplace wellbeing.
While the recognition marks an important achievement, CARDET views it as an incentive to continue listening, learning and strengthening its practices.
The organisation remains committed to evaluating the impact of its initiatives and creating the conditions that enable both its people and the organisation to thrive.
“Together We Thrive. Together We Create Impact.”
