Annual increase in industrial producer prices in Cyprus at 4.2% in August

Industrial producer prices in Cyprus increased by 4.2% in August 2026 compared with the same month in 2025, while on a monthly basis they rose by 0.2%, according to data published by Eurostat.

The annual increase in Cyprus accelerated from 4.0% in July to 4.2% in August. In June and May, the annual rate had stood at 2.0%, while in March and April a decrease of 0.4% had been recorded.

On a monthly basis, industrial producer prices in Cyprus increased by 0.2% in August, following a 1.8% rise in July. They had increased by 0.3% in June, 3.2% in May and 0.3% in April, while in March they had declined by 0.6%.

In the euro area, industrial producer prices increased by 1.9% in August compared with July, while the EU also recorded a 1.9% increase. In July, the corresponding increases were 1.6% in the euro area and 1.4% in the EU.

On an annual basis, industrial producer prices increased by 8.2% in the euro area and by 8.0% in the EU in August 2026 compared with August 2025.

On a monthly basis, the largest increase in both the euro area and the EU came from the energy sector. Energy prices increased by 5.6% in the euro area and by 5.5% in the EU.
