Smartphone application provides information on two national forest parks in Cyprus

The Forestry Department has announced the release to the public of a smartphone application aimed at informing and guiding visitors to the two national forest parks of Athalassa and the Pedagogical Academy.

The Department said in a press release that the purpose of the application, created with Frederick University, is to enhance the visitor experience by providing access to information about the two parks, their infrastructure, provided services, and points of interest, while promoting their safe, responsible, and enjoyable use.

Through the application, users can browse each park separately and access features such as general information, including details about their history and natural environment, a map and a directory of services and points of interest, information regarding points of interest, park operation rules, behavioral guidelines, and useful emergency telephone numbers (1407/112), a knowledge quiz, as well as contact details for the Forestry Department.
