Newly formed Cyprus Defence and Space Industry Cluster (CyDISC) appoints first Board

The first Electoral General Assembly of the Cyprus Defence and Space Industry Cluster (CyDSIC), which falls under the umbrella of the Cyprus Chamber & Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has been held, during which the Cluster's Board was formed.

The Tuesday, 8 September Assembly marks an important milestone in the course of the Cyprus Defense and Space Industry Cluster, which, since its establishment within the framework of the Cyprus Association of Research and Innovation Enterprises (CARIE), has played a decisive role in the development and strengthening of the Cypriot defence, security and space ecosystem.

Through its intense and multidimensional activity, the Cluster has substantially contributed to strengthening Cyprus' international presence in these strategic sectors, as well as to increasing the participation of Cypriot businesses in important European programs and initiatives.

During the General Assembly, elections were held for the appointment of the eight-member Board of Directors, in which the Defence and Space sectors are represented.

The elected Directors, during their first meeting, proceeded to form the new Board of Directors as follows:

  • President: Dr. Loizos Christofi - EBOS TECHNOLOGIES LTD
  • Vice President of Finance and Administration: Despina Panayiotou Theodosiou - TOTOTHEO GLOBAL LTD
  • Vice President of Policy, Institutional Affairs and Public Relations: Dr. Tasos Kounoudes - SIGNALGENERIX LTD
  • Vice President of Industrial Development and Exports: Dr. Haris Zacharatos - CELLOCK LTD
  • Vice President of Research and Innovation: Dr. Constantinos Kassianides - HELLAS SAT
  • Vice President of European and International Relations: Dr. Panayiotis Philimis - CYRIC (Cyprus Research & Innovation Centre)
  • Secretary: Pavlos Fokas - MULTIMARINE SERVICES
  • Representative of Research and Academic Organisations: Diofantos G. Hadjimitsis - ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence

The President wished the members of the new Board of Directors success in carrying out their duties and expressed the certainty that, through collective effort and close cooperation, the Coluster will continue to play a leading role in the further development and strengthening of the Cypriot defencesecurity and space ecosystem, while strengthening Cyprus' international presence and collaborations in these strategic sectors.
