"Real Success Is Giving Back”: Matt “MK” Kiatipis’ powerful message at 1-on-1 Larnaca Challenge dedicated to the Nicholas Zoe Foundation

International basketball creator and -on- king of the court Matt “MK” Kiatipis brought his energy, talent and message of solidarity to the Kition Athletic Center in Larnaca, dedicating his -hour -on- challenge to the Nicholas Zoe Foundation.

Held in the framework of the 2nd International Youth Basketball Tournament Vol. 2 – The Eternals, powered by ECOMMBX, the event marked the Foundation’s first activity launching Gold September—the month dedicated to raising awareness of childhood cancer.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the challenge, MK highlighted the meaning of using his platform for causes that matter: “I may have millions of followers and views, yet real success is when you get called to do an event such as this.”

On court, MK reinforced his message by dedicating his performance to Nicholas Artemiou. Through every shot, every challenge and every word, he encouraged spectators to “keep battling,” recognising the immense courage of children whose lives have been brutally interrupted by cancer.

Fans had the opportunity to meet MK in person, take photos, collect autographs, enjoy a live basketball experience, and take part in a 1-on-1 basketball challenge. The appearance added a memorable community element to the tournament, which brought together youth basketball, fan engagement, and charitable giving under one roof.

Alexia Potamitou, President of the Nicholas Zoe Foundation, and Nicholas’ mother said, “It is truly moving to see a sport that brings people, teams and countries together also become a vehicle for social contribution and hope. Today, basketball, social responsibility and solidarity unite for a common goal: to raise as much as possible in support of groundbreaking research for childhood cancer.”

The Nicholas Zoe Foundation extends its sincere thanks to Matt “MK” Kiatipis, VT Basketball, Petrolina AEK Larnaca and ECOMMBX for bringing this meaningful event to life and for making every Golden Hoop count.
