Hermes Airports pays tribute to Nicos K. Shacolas following his death

The Chairman, Board of Directors, Management and staff of Hermes Airports express their profound sorrow at the passing of Nicos K. Shacolas, Lifetime Honorary Chairman of our company and one of the most prominent figures of the Cypriot business community.

Nicos K. Shacolas was one of the key visionaries behind the establishment of the Hermes Airports Consortium, which assumed the management and development of Larnaka and Pafos airports in 2006. He played a pivotal role in shaping the vision that transformed Cyprus’ airports into modern gateways to the country.

He served as the first Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hermes Airports, from the establishment of the Company until July 2011, and subsequently as its Lifetime Honorary Chairman. Throughout this period, he contributed his knowledge, experience and insight with unwavering dedication and commitment. Until very recently, he remained actively involved in the Company's affairs and strategic direction, consistently demonstrating his dedication to its progress and development.

The late Nicos K. Shacolas was distinguished by his foresight, entrepreneurial instinct and his ability to look to the future with confidence and optimism. He firmly believed in the potential of Cyprus’ airports and, through his contribution, helped establish them not only as modern and efficient infrastructure assets, but also as landmarks of which the country could be proud, reflecting its history, hospitality and aspirations.

The legacy he leaves behind, both within Hermes Airports and across the business and economic life of Cyprus, will continue to inspire future generations.
