Digital Assets: The Pursuit of Ultimate Compliance in the New Digital Economy

Senior executives from banks, EMIs, and fintech organizations analyze regulation, compliance, and trust infrastructure in the evolving digital economy.

The integration of digital assets into the regulated financial system is one of the most critical challenges for banks, financial technology companies, and supervisory authorities. As the market matures, the discussion is shifting from the theoretical adoption of crypto assets to practical issues of trust, regulatory compliance, and operational security.

This topic will be discussed at the Digital Assets and the Future of Finance Summit 2026, taking place on July 7, 2026, at the City of Dreams Mediterranean in Limassol, bringing together leading representatives from the financial and digital ecosystem.

Of particular interest is the panel discussion titled Can Digital Assets Become a Trusted Part of the Regulated Financial System?, which will examine the role of regulation, governance, transparency, and risk management in shaping the next phase of digital assets and their institutional adoption.

The discussion will address key topics such as AML and CFT obligations, compliance with international sanctions, the Travel Rule, and the increasing supervisory requirements faced by Digital Asset Service Providers in an ever-evolving regulatory environment.

In parallel, the panel will analyze the role of banks, electronic money institutions, payment institutions, stablecoins, and tokenization in building a secure and scalable digital ecosystem that supports both institutional and commercial users.

A significant aspect of the discussion will focus on corporate governance and risk management frameworks for crypto-asset service providers and exchanges, with emphasis on cybersecurity, operational resilience, and effective incident management.

The panel features Alexis Michael, Executive Director for Cyprus, Malta, and Greece at Copla, George Apostolides, Deputy CCO and AMLCO at Eurobank Ltd, Kyriaki Dimitriou, Head of Fincrime Compliance at Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd and Faisal Islam, President of Binderr Core. The discussion will be moderated by Gregory Dellas, Group Chief Compliance & Risk Officer at ECOMMBX and Honorary Chair of the ACAMS Cyprus Chapter.

The speakers will explore how regulated service providers and financial institutions are building bridges with the digital assets ecosystem, enabling access to banking services, payment infrastructures, and compliance solutions that support the sector’s growth.

They will also examine the challenges of de-risking, regulatory expectations from supervisory authorities, and collaboration models between banks, electronic money institutions, and crypto-asset companies, aiming to strike a balance between innovation and regulatory security.

As digital assets become increasingly embedded in everyday payments and cross-border transactions, the financial system is forming a new equilibrium between traditional banking infrastructure and blockchain technology, aiming for faster, more secure, and more transparent transactions.

The Digital Assets and the Future of Finance Summit 2026 will serve as a key meeting point for regulators, banks, fintech companies, digital asset service providers, electronic money institutions, and institutional investors, fostering a meaningful dialogue on the future of regulated digital markets and the global financial architecture.
