The 12th International Compliance Forum, titled 'Compliance Unbound 2026: Crime, Conduct & the New Rules of Risk', highlighted the challenges and the opportunities that shape the modern compliance environment. Regulators, compliance professionals and market representatives met to discuss the new requirements for transparency, accountability and risk management.
The need to find a balance between effective controls and business agility was a central theme, as was the pivotal role of technology. Artificial intelligence, automation and data - driven systems are emerging as valuable tools for enhancing compliance and strategic decision-making.
Particular emphasis was also placed on new forms of risk, such as environmental risks and digital assets, as well as on the increasing demands of regulations such as DORA. The common conclusion of the participants was that cooperation between the public and private sectors is a key prerequisite for a strong and effective compliance framework.
