Hermes Airports recently celebrated 20 years of managing Larnaca and Paphos airports with a sweet treat, wishes and many spontaneous moments.
On 11 May, 2026, 20 years since the signing of the Concession Agreement, the airports put on a series of festive displays, with passengers, partners and employees in front of the camera saying "Happy Birthday Hermes" and wishing "as many and even more years of success."
These spontaneous snapshots capture the relationships that have developed over the years between Hermes Airports, the airport community and travellers. At the same time, a celebratory lunch was organised for Hermes Airports staff, where all employees came together to celebrate the company's progress and this important anniversary.
For two decades, Hermes Airports has been behind the major transformation of Cyprus' airports. With consistency and vision, it has managed to overcome challenges and difficulties, steadily following the path of development and significantly enhancing the country's connectivity with the world. Traffic at the two airports has approximately doubled from 6.7 million in 2006 to 13.7 million in 2025, decisively contributing to the consolidation of tourism as a strategic pillar of the Cypriot economy, with a contribution to GDP that currently reaches 14%.
Beyond the projects and successes, Hermes Airports is, above all, its people. They are the ones who prove every day that a large organisation can have a human face, build relationships of trust and create experiences that last.
We thank everyone who has traveled and worked with us over these 20 years and we look forward to what is to come!
