The Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, in collaboration with the University of Cyprus Library, acting as the National Open Science OpenAIRE NOAD in Cyprus, are organising the European Open Science Cloud Tripartite Meeting in Cyprus (National Tripartite Event: Cyprus).
The objective of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is to provide researchers and innovators in Europe with an open and trusted multi-disciplinary environment where they can publish, find and reuse data, tools and services for research and innovation. Through this environment, EOSC aims to mobilise, align and scale resources across Europe to accelerate open science, higher productivity and increased reproducibility and trust in research.
"This meeting forms part of a broader pan-European initiative and is embedded in the co-creation of the future of EOSC, which constitutes a strategic priority of the European Research Area. It also follows the model of similar tripartite meetings held across Europe," a relevant press release notes.
The purpose of the event is to convene the principal EOSC stakeholders, namely the EOSC Association, the European Commission, and the EOSC Steering Board, together with representatives of the local scientific community. The meeting is intended, firstly, to present the current state of the country with respect to the implementation of Open Science policies and practices and, secondly, to promote an exchange of views regarding the country’s participation in EOSC, as well as the future actions to be undertaken in support of this objective.
"To this end, we would be pleased to have your presence and contribution to the discussion," the press release concludes.
