A total of 18 bounced cheques were presented in March, with a total value of €47,773, according to data published by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
According to entries made in the preliminary list, the 18 cheques concerned seven legal entities and four natural persons.
Furthermore, in March, a total of 15 persons were registered in the Central Information Register (CIR), of which six were legal entities, two were natural persons, and seven were natural persons controlling legal entities.
In the first quarter of 2026, a total of 43 bounced cheques were presented, amounting to €142,324, compared to 61 bounced cheques worth €156,564 that had been presented in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
Additionally, during the same period, 32 persons were registered in the CIR, including 14 legal entities, three natural persons, and 15 natural persons controlling legal entities. In the first quarter of 2025, 24 persons had been registered: nine legal entities, six natural persons, and nine natural persons controlling legal entities.
