Last chance to participate in the student competition “Together We Stop Bullying”

As the submission deadline approaches, the Pancyprian Student Video Competition “Together We Stop Bullying” is entering its final stretch, offering students across Cyprus the opportunity to express themselves creatively and actively contribute to addressing one of the most critical issues in school life.

The competition is organised by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, in collaboration with the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation (YCF) and MHV Mediterranean Hospitality Venture, and is open to students from public and private primary schools, secondary schools, lyceums, and technical schools. The initiative aims to raise awareness about school bullying and promote values such as empathy, acceptance, and cooperation.

Through the creation of a short one-minute video, students are invited to highlight the importance of preventing and addressing bullying, present its forms and consequences, and propose ways of intervention and positive change within the school environment. This process encourages teamwork and gives students a voice, turning them into ambassadors for a school environment free from fear.

A strong incentive for participation is the competition’s significant prizes, with total cash awards of €100,000. The first prize amounts to €50,000, the second to €20,000, while four additional prizes of €7,500 each will be awarded to schools, aiming to improve school infrastructure and enhance the educational experience.

The submission deadline is 31 March 2026, leaving limited time for those wishing to take part. The final evaluation and awards ceremony will take place in May 2026.

This initiative represents a meaningful investment in the younger generation, fostering creativity, social awareness, and collaboration. It also highlights the role of education as a catalyst for building a more inclusive and safe society for all.

The Yianis Christodoulou Foundation aims to enhance educational opportunities for children, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups, while supporting the development and internationalisation of young talent. The Foundation believes that the best way to shape tomorrow’s society is to educate today’s youth. It strives to create a meaningful impact on children and young people through projects that are effectively implemented and detail-oriented. Mr Christodoulou, a philanthropist with many years of activity, has played a leading role through the Foundation in the creation of more than 100 projects to date, most of them in schools.
