Dinos Lefkaritis: There is no concern about fuel adequacy - There are alternative markets

Petroleum companies will be making alternative arrangements, if necessary, regarding purchases for the supply of fuel for Cyprus, the CEO of Petrolina Dinos Lefkaritis has said.

As he told CNA, there is currently a stock for 15 days, which is considered satisfactory for Cyprus, as he explained, as there are usually deliveries every week.

"We are covered, we don't have a specific problem," he said. As he said, until Sunday evening, "we loaded from Israel. Today we will see things. We may have to stop, depending on what the refinery in Haifa tells us," he said.

He noted, however, that there are alternatives, including from VTTV, "which has traders and we can buy from there, and from Greece, and from Malta or Italy."

"There is no concern about running out of fuel. At the moment, we have secured stocks that we can hold for up to 15 days," he said, stating that this is considered satisfactory for Cyprus's conditions.

Regarding the issue of prices, Lefkaritis said that petroleum products are very unpredictable. "We are waiting to see. Anything can happen and it could go down, it could not. No one can predict it," he said.
