Christina Michael, CEO & Founder of the St. Moritz LonRgevity Forum, tells GOLD about the philosophy behind about the forthcoming inaugural Cyprus EMEA Healthspan Summit in Limassol, the Forum’s strategic partnership with MHV Group and why Cyprus was the location of choice for the Summit.
Among other things, Michael also discusses the main focus of the event and who she believes will benefit most from attending.
The Cyprus EMEA Healthspan Summit is being curated by the experts behind the prestigious St. Moritz Longevity Forum in Switzerland. How did that initiative begin and what is the thinking behind its expansion to other parts of the world, such as through the upcoming Summit?
The St. Moritz Longevity Forum was established in the historic city of St. Moritz, Switzerland, with a mission to bridge the gap between cutting-edge longevity science and its real-world implementation. Our objective is to move the global conversation from simply “living longer” to “living better” by integrating biotechnology, personalised medicine and lifestyle innovation across every pillar of longevity. Behind the Forum is a solid team of scientists, medical pioneers and industry experts who ensure that every discussion we host is grounded in rigorous research and practical application.
As the field of healthspan gained global momentum, we recognised a strategic necessity to share this specialised knowledge on a broader scale by establishing a pioneering platform for international dialogue and scientific exchange. Expanding to other regions, such as through the Cyprus EMEA Healthspan Summit, allows us to foster a more inclusive and cross-border dialogue. By bringing our expertise to the EMEA region, we aim to build a global ecosystem where local insights and international breakthroughs can converge.
How did your strategic partnership with MHV Group come about?
Our partnership with MHV is rooted in a shared philosophy: that the environments in which we live and gather significantly impact our health and productivity. MHV’s reputation for excellence and its visionary approach to high-end hospitality make it the ideal partner for this effort. Hosting the Summit at Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, provides our delegates with a refined atmosphere essential for high-level networking. This setting reflects a 360-degree approach to holistic health, providing a fitting stage for the leading minds dedicated to elevating the global healthspan.
Why was Cyprus selected as the venue for the EMEA Healthspan Summit?
Cyprus was selected for its unique strategic advantages. The island’s geographical location at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East and Africa makes it a natural hub for the EMEA region, ensuring that the event is accessible to a wide international audience. Furthermore, the island’s political, economic and social stability provides a secure and professional environment for global leaders to convene in. This is particularly relevant today as Cyprus holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, a role that underscores its influence in shaping European health and social policy. We also took into consideration the island’s emerging status as a centre for biotechnology and health innovation, positioning it as a key player in the transition towards a “Centenarian Society.”
What will be the main focus of the Cyprus EMEA Healthspan Summit and what can delegates expect?
Delegates can expect an intensive programme built around core pillars such as regenerative medicine, the role of AI in healthcare, and the “longevity economy.” Guided by our expert scientific committee, the Forum will explore how machine learning is accelerating drug discovery, the integration of Biobanking and Big Data for precision health, and the evolving role of specialised Longevity Clinics.
The agenda further delves into the design of urban concepts for healthy ageing and strategic investments in the longevity landscape, including financial frameworks for extended lifespans. Participants will experience a mix of keynote addresses by renowned experts, interactive panels and exclusive networking sessions designed to transform scientific insights into actionable business and social strategies.
Who do you believe will benefit most from attending the Summit?
We believe that the Summit is essential for those at the helm of the longevity transition. This includes scientists and clinicians looking to stay at the forefront of preventive medicine, as well as investors and entrepreneurs seeking high-potential opportunities in the burgeoning longevity market. Additionally, policymakers, urban planners and financial professionals will benefit from discussing the infrastructure and wealth management strategies required for an ageing population. Ultimately, the event is designed for any leader who recognises that healthspan is the most valuable asset of the 21st century.
The Cyprus EMEA Healthspan Summit takes place at the Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol on 27–28 April 2026.
