The CCCI is promoting its digital transformation, including the development of an app

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is promoting its digital transformation, with the aim of improving both staff productivity and the quality of services offered to its member businesses, and - among other things - also wants to develop a mobile application.

In fact, in order to record all needs and prepare the relevant documents for an open tender for the provision of digital transformation services, the CCCI has proceeded to publish an initial tender for the provision of specialised consulting services for the planning, preparation, and supervision of its digital transformation.

More specifically, and according to what is stated in the tender documents published in the Electronic Tendering System (e-procurement), the CCCI recognises the immediate need for digitalisation of its internal operations and utilisation of modern technologies with the aim of improving both staff productivity and the quality of services offered to its member companies.

As it characteristically underlined, "in an increasingly digitalised and data-driven economic environment, maintaining competitiveness and efficiency is vital, not only for the sustainability of the Chamber, but also for strengthening its role as a leading institution in the business community."

Regarding the importance of this initiative, the CCCI believes that through digital transformation, it will achieve:

  • Modern Services: Members - especially start-ups, SMEs and international partners - expect fast, accessible and digitally supported services. Artificial intelligence and automation can help the CCCI meet these expectations.
  • Operational Efficiency: Digitising internal processes reduces delays, workload and administrative errors, allowing staff to focus on more strategic tasks.
  • Enhanced Engagement: A digital platform with modern technologies will allow for personalised communication, smart business connectivity, automated support and access to useful tools and data – enhancing the value of the CCCI to its members.
  • Global Competitiveness: A modernised, AI-supported Chamber sends a strong message to the global business and investment community that Cyprus is investing in innovation and progress.

The subject of the contract

Regarding the contract to be signed with the successful bidder, it will include:

  • the analysis and mapping of the current situation and the digital transformation needs of the CCCI,
  • the drafting of technical specifications and open tender documents for the development of applications, systems and digital services,
  • supervising the implementation and completion of the contract that will result from the subsequent open tender.

Purpose and deliverables

Regarding the notice, the documents explain that the CCCI seeks to award the contract to an external economic entity, which will have the necessary know-how and experience in the design and implementation of digital transformation projects for organisations and will have to deliver three deliverables to the Chamber.

The first deliverable concerns the preparation of a report analysing the current situation and capturing the digital transformation needs of the CCCI, which will cover, indicatively and not limited to, the following:

  • existing IT infrastructure and digital capabilities,
  • internal processes and workflows,
  • existing services to members and opportunities for improvement through digitalisation,
  • ability to manage, analyse and utilise data,
  • level of digital skills of staff and training needs,
  • strategic goals of digital transformation and integration of modern technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.

The second deliverable will concern the drafting of Technical Specifications and Open Tender Documents for the provision of digital transformation services of the CCCI.

This open tender will have an estimated value of less than €300,000 and will aim, among other things, to award a project that will include:

  • automation of the administrative and operational procedures of the CCCI,
  • development and operation of a digital platform and mobile application,
  • integrating artificial intelligence capabilities for:
  • increase in staff productivity,
  • providing member support on a 24-hour basis,
  • providing personalised services and information,
  • data-driven decision support,
  • strengthening networking and cooperation between members.

The third deliverable will concern the supervision of the implementation of the contract resulting from the Open Tender, during which the Contractor will have to prepare three supervision reports.

However, for reasons of ensuring transparency, impartiality and avoiding conflicts of interest, the Contractor selected on the basis of this tender will be explicitly excluded from participating and submitting a bid in the next open tender concerning the implementation of the CCCI's digital transformation.

Within the framework of THALIA 2021-2027

It is noted that the Chamber's digital transformation project is being implemented within the framework of the THALIA 2021-2027 Program with co-financing from the EU.

The estimated value of the contract for the provision of specialised consulting services for the planning, preparation and supervision of its digital transformation was set at 80,000 euros and offers will be accepted until March 16 at 12 noon.
