Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd announces its appointment as the General Sales Agent (GSA) of the internationally recognised airline Juneyao Air in the Cypriot market.
Juneyao Air serves the Larnaca–Shanghai route via Athens, significantly enhancing connectivity between Cyprus, Greece, and China. From April 2026, the airline will increase flight frequency to five weekly services, offering even more reliable and flexible travel options.
As part of this cooperation, Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd, with its long-standing experience in airline representation and tourism services, will immediately assume full responsibility for all marketing and sales activities of Juneyao Air in Cyprus.
Juneyao Air is a well-known airline with its route hubs in Shanghai and Nanjing, which launched its first flight on September 25, 2006. As a Star Alliance Connecting Partner, it currently operates a dual fleet consisting of 93 Airbus A320 series aircraft and 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, covering more than 260 routes connecting major cities across Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
In 2025, its passenger traffic reached nearly 27 million. Since its launch in April 2024, the Shanghai-Athens route has achieved remarkable operational results, with a total of over 120,000 passengers carried. It will be increased to 5 flights per week starting from April 2026. Meanwhile, relying on the interline cooperation with Aegean Airlines, Juneyao Air will further expand its Southern European regional network, facilitating connectivity and personnel exchanges between China, Greece and surrounding countries.
In addition, passengers benefit from onward connections to various cities in China as well as destinations such as Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and Australia, with single-ticket issuance and through checked baggage to the final destination, without the need to collect and re-check luggage during transit. This service saves time, enhances the travel experience, and provides substantial support for the international travel needs of Cypriot passengers.
