JCC Payment Systems has signed an agreement with HS Data, an IBM Business Partner, to implement a solution powered by IBM watsonx.ai and IBM Business Automation Workflow that automates merchant onboarding and mandatory regulatory verification processes.
The initiative will enable a significant reduction in verification times, replacing slow and complex manual processes with intelligent automation that accelerates merchant activation and access to payment services.
The project focuses on the automation of legal document review and mandatory identity and regulatory compliance checks (eg Know your Customer ). As a result, JCC is reducing manual effort, shortening onboarding cycles and minimizing operational risk. This streamlined process means faster access to payment processing capabilities, enabling merchants to start accepting payments from their customers sooner.
The technology platform integrates intelligent document processing, workflow automation and achieves enterprise-grade governance, leveraging watsonx.ai and IBM Business Automation Workflow, taking into consideration regulatory requirements in increasingly demanding regulatory environments and enhancing the overall merchant experience.
By adopting AI-driven automation, JCC is raising the bar for speed, accuracy and merchant experience across the payments ecosystem—while driving greater efficiency, strengthening risk management and elevating service quality for its merchant network.
Commenting on the initiative, Markos Shiarly, CEO of JCC Payment Systems, noted that “AI‑driven automation is more than an operational upgrade, it is a catalyst for the future of financial services. By bringing IBM’s watsonx.ai together with HS Data’s expertise, we’re accelerating merchant onboarding so businesses can start accepting payments quickly and with confidence. The improvements aim to remove unnecessary friction, strengthen our operational and compliance foundations, and position JCC to deliver a smarter, future‑ready service for an increasingly digital economy.”
“Partnering with JCC on this strategic initiative reflects our commitment to helping organisations unlock the full value of intelligent automation. By combining IBM’s watsonx.ai capabilities with our deep expertise in business process transformation, we are enabling JCC to streamline complex onboarding workflows, strengthen compliance and deliver a faster, more seamless experience to its merchants. This project demonstrates how AI can drive measurable operational impact while supporting long‑term scalability and innovation,” said Louis Costa, GM, HS Data. With this initiative, JCC advances its digital transformation strategy and positions itself as a more agile, efficient payment service provider, ready to scale its operations.
“Artificial intelligence is becoming a true engine of transformation for businesses, redefining how they operate and create value. It enables organisations to simplify complex processes, gain speed and respond more effectively to the demands of an increasingly dynamic market,” said Menicos Mavrommatis for IBM.
