The year has started on a positive note for the property sector, with the Cypriot real estate market recording a positive trend both nationwide and in each district separately.
According to data from the Department of Lands and Surveys, the number of sales documents filed nationwide in January 2026 amounted to 1,411 compared to 1,275 in January 2025, recording an increase of 11%.
In Limassol, which has consistently maintained its lead in the real estate market, property sales increased by 4%, reaching 445 in January this year from 429 in January last year.
Paphos ranks second, with 318 sales in January 2026, compared to 255 in January 2025, showing a significant increase of 25%.
In Nicosia, sales documents increased by 5% to 291 in January this year compared to 276 in January last year.
Larnaca follows, where 288 sales documents were filed in the first month of 2026 compared to 259 in the first month of 2025, recording an increase of 11%.
Property sales in the district of free Famagusta increased by 23% in January this year, as they reached 69 from 56 in the same month of 2025.
