Psaras Construction: Awarded at the Good Practice Competition 2025 for Innovative Health and Safety Practices

Psaras Construction proudly announces its distinction with the 3rd Prize at the Good Practice Competition 2025 organised by the Cyprus Safety and Health Association, recognising the company’s dedication to innovation and continuous improvement of health and safety conditions in the workplace.

The event took place at the main building of P.O.E.D., in the presence of representatives from the business and technical sectors. The ceremony was addressed by and the awards were presented by the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, Mr. Yiannis Panayiotou, who congratulated all participating companies for their contribution to fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.

Psaras Construction was recognised for the creation of an innovative induction training video, developed using artificial intelligence (AI) and available in multiple languages. The aim of this initiative is to ensure the full understanding of health and safety rules by all employees, regardless of language background.

This practice has already been successfully implemented at the Palm Beach project site in Larnaca, where key health and safety guidelines have been dubbed and subtitled into five languages. The training video was presented to every worker, ensuring that all receive clear and comprehensible information.

This initiative is considered pioneering within the construction sector, as it addresses a real challenge: the multilingual nature of the workforce, which often leads to difficulties in daily communication. By leveraging AI technologies, Psaras Construction ensures that every team member fully understands all procedures, promoting a culture of safety, prevention, and respect in the workplace.

The project was successfully managed by Orestis Theophylactou, Health and Safety Manager, and Rafaela Kkolou, Health and Safety Assistant, who played a key role in the development and implementation of this innovative practice.

This distinction represents an important acknowledgment of Psaras Construction’s commitment to continuous investment in its people, their health and safety as well as in innovation, reinforcing its position as a leader in the construction sector in Cyprus.
