“We are very glad that Teroxx has chosen this space to embrace the values of our city into its own business model,” Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Proutzos said during his remarks made during the inauguration event for Teroxx’s new headquarters in Nicosia's Makarios Avenue.
Welcoming the expanding business ecosystem, the Nicosia Mayor congratulated the digital asset firm for their “innovative business model and for making Cyprus proud to house such a firm,” especially since Teroxx is a regulated business exporting services around the globe. He later thanked the Founder and CEO, Christoph Pliessnig, for investing and trusting the capital, as the business's new home, bringing business and aesthetics.
The new Teroxx headquarters houses a contemporary art exhibition curated by Julian Epok on its ground floor, as well as a champagne bar. “Makarios Avenue is a public space in which we have invested around thirty million to create a state-of-the-art contemporary and modern space,” the Nicosia Mayor noted in his speech.
“We are very pleased because the type and the nature of this business is a signal and a symbol of what we want Nicosia to be in the upcoming years. Nicosia is a city that includes people. It's affordable. It's got a deep culture. It's low-key,” Proutzos said, highlighting the capital’s deep history and academic excellence as it houses multiple globally ranked universities. “We deeply invest in knowledge, in innovation, in research, and the new economy. And Terox embodies this very principle, this very value,” he said.
In his closing remarks, Proutzos expressed his gratitude to Pliessnig for choosing Nicosia as a base, embracing the city's values and business model.
“I would like to congratulate Christoph and the rest of the team for a very innovative business for which Cyprus is proud. We are very much looking forward to initiating a collaboration with Terroxx.”
Terroxx was founded in 2018 and previously held Larnaca as its base, before moving its official headquarters to Nicosia.
