With a vision for a fairer, more resilient, and united society, the ENA Foundation, an initiative of entrepreneur Tasos Papanastasiou, has officially begun its work in Cyprus.
As noted in a relevant announcement, the independent, non-profit organisation aspires to activate the power of ONE(ENA) of every person, every act, every community, as a driving force for collective progress and lasting impact.
ENA Foundation is an initiative of entrepreneur Tasos Papanastasiou, with Christiana Panagi as co-founder and the original inspire, the announcement says, adding, "Both share a deep belief in the value of collective contribution and set out to establish a foundation dedicated to society. Rooted in Cypriot and Greek culture, and inspired by the values of unity, integrity, and a spirit of selfless generosity, they have transformed their personal commitment into reality: to give back to society and support it sustainably. The Foundation is primarily funded through private resources and stands out for its unwavering focus on sustainable social progress."
“For me, success has no meaning unless it is shared. Unless you give something back—not out of obligation, but because you truly want to stand by others. ENA Foundation started from a simple thought: how can we provide real support to people who have dreams but need help to make them a reality? I believe everyone deserves an opportunity. And that change does not come from grand declarations, but from actions. If we can be part of that change, even for one person, then we have done something worthwhile,” Papanastasiou comments.
At its launch, ENA Foundation is focusing on three specific areas that reflect its philosophy: empowering individuals through support mechanisms, strengthening social inclusion, and creating shared spaces that foster cohesion.
The Foundation’s first initiatives have been designed to serve as examples of positive change, leveraging existing resources and potential within local communities. These interventions are targeted, with clear goals and measurable results, supporting vulnerable groups, encouraging citizen participation, and promoting collaboration for the common good.
Beyond the Medal: This program was designed to support Olympic and Paralympic-level athletes, not only in their sporting careers but also in their educational pursuits and professional development. It recognizes that an athlete’s journey does not end on the field, and that education is a cornerstone of a balanced and sustainable life. Our champions, through their consistency and dedication, embody the importance of lifelong learning and personal growth. That is why the program offers meaningful support to our top athletes, from now through the 2028 Olympic Games, in which they have the potential to compete. It aims to strengthen the concept of a “dual career” and to showcase role models whose lives are built on learning, effort, and continuous progress. Eight athletes have already joined the ENA Foundation’s programme, set to make the most of its support as they combine their sporting ambitions with their academic studies. Their names will be officially announced soon.
Grants for Change: An initiative designed to empower and support Cypriot society by funding projects implemented by local organizations. The program aims to turn community ideas into impactful and sustainable projects that benefit society as a whole. It provides funding of up to €20,000 for proposals that promote empowerment and the social inclusion of vulnerable groups. The program is currently in the evaluation phase, with the selected projects to be announced in mid-November.
Envision Together: A program focused on public spaces as places of encounter, social interaction, and shared experience. Its purpose is to create or upgrade parks and other communal infrastructure to strengthen social cohesion. Functional, accessible, and well-designed public spaces make a real contribution to quality of life and reinforce bonds between citizens and their communities. The first initiatives under this program will be presented soon, as part of new projects currently being planned by the Foundation.
“ENA Foundation was created to support, empower, and establish a new framework for collaboration. We want to design programs that provide sustainable solutions and to refine them over time together with society, as genuine partners and co-travelers,” says Anastasia Ellina, one of the Foundation’s coordinators. Constantinos Kkaili, also a coordinator of the Foundation, adds: “We are here to create together. To support existing efforts, to open the way for new ideas, and to provide opportunities. Everything happens through participation, collaboration, and collective effort.”
"With a strategic approach, transparency, and partnerships, ENA Foundation aims to strengthen the collective effort for a society of meaningful progress and real impact. At the centre are always the people and the community," the announcement notes, adding, "The Foundation extends an open invitation to citizens, organizations, and stakeholders to join this journey. Because change begins with ENA—one person, one act, one community—and grows stronger as it multiplies."
