In August 2025, a decrease of 523 registered unemployed persons or 4.3% was recorded, in comparison with August 2024, according to CySTAT.
This decrease is mainly attributed to the sectors of education, trade, construction, financial and insurance activities, as well as to the decrease recorded for newcomers to the labour market.
The number of unemployed persons registered at the District Labour Offices on the last day of August 2025, reached 11,556. Based on the seasonally adjusted data which reflect the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed for August 2025 increased to 10,225 persons, in comparison to 10,149 in the previous month.
