July's retail trade up 5.2% in value and 8.7% in volume 

The Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade for July increased by 5.2% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year. For the same month, the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade increased by 8.7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

According to Cystat, regarding the Value Index, the largest increase was recorded in the category Food, beverages and tobacco in specialised stores, with 15.3%. In contrast, the largest decrease was observed in Automotive fuel, which fell by 5.7%.

As for the Volume Index, the largest increase was also recorded in the category Food, beverages and tobacco in specialised stores, with 19.8%, followed by Clothing and Footwear with an increase of 15.7%. The only category that recorded a decline in volume in July was Cultural and recreation goods (books, stationery, sports equipment, toys), which fell by 1%.

For the period January–July 2025, compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, the Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade recorded an increase of 6.4%, while the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade recorded an increase of 7.2%.
