Cyprus has become the smallest nation in history to host the European Basketball Championship.
FIBA EuroBasket 2025 kicked off on 28 August to a packed arena, with Greece vs Italy the highlight of Day 1.
Meanwhile, this is the first time in history that a Cypriot national team, regardless of the sport, has competed in a final round of a European Championship.
