“We are especially proud that Cyprus is hosting and at the centre of the premier sporting event, EuroBasket 2025,” President Nikos Christodoulides stated during his visit the Cyprus and Bosnia & Herzegovina match that took place on 28 August at the Spyros Kyprianou Sports Centre in Limassol.
“A great moment for European – and not only – basketball. Thousands of visitors are already in our country, boosting tourism and local businesses, while hundreds of millions of viewers around the world will see Cyprus as the starting point of the basketball spectacle,” he added in a social media post.
“I wish the best of success to our National Team in its first and historic participation, as well as to all the teams taking part. All of Cyprus stands by our National Team,” the president concluded.
