Petroleum sales up 7.7% in July year-over-year

Total petroleum product sales in July 2025 reached 144,790 tons, marking a robust 7.7% increase compared to July 2024, according to CySTAT.

Significant growth was recorded in marine fuel supplies (270.3%) and aviation fuel (13.0%), alongside rises in asphalt (9.3%), diesel (3.8%), heating oil (3.3%), gasoline (3.0%), kerosene (2.2%), and liquefied petroleum gas (0.8%).

However, sales of light and heavy fuel oil saw sharp declines of 67.0% and 59.7%, respectively. Fuel sales at petrol stations specifically rose by 3.0%, totalling 62,497 tons.

On a month-to-month basis, July 2025 sales grew by 2.9% compared to June 2025, driven by increases in aviation fuel (4.5%), asphalt (27.9%), gasoline (5.9%), and diesel (4.8%).

Conversely, kerosene and heavy fuel oil sales dropped by 68.0% and 32.3%, respectively. Petroleum inventories at the end of July 2025 surged by 30.8% compared to the previous month.

For the January–July 2025 period, total petroleum sales rose by 4.5% compared to the same period in 2024.
