Travel abroad by residents of Cyprus increased by 9.1% in July 2025, reaching 186,987 travellers compared to 171,382 in July last year.
The purpose of travel was largely for holidays at 75.1%, while business reasons accounted for 14.8%, studies for 9.1% and other reasons for 1%.
Popular destinations
According to CySTAT data, the main countries from which Cypriot residents returned in July this year were Greece with 36.8% (68,858), the United Kingdom with 9.4% (17,518) and Italy with 5.9% (11,117).
Germany (7,704), Russia (6,811) and Spain (5,299) have also been popular travel destinations for Cypriots.
Countries such as France (5,277), Bulgaria (4,063), Poland (3,802), Romania (3,752), Austria (3,501) and the Netherlands (3,425) also emerged as attractive destinations for travellers from Cyprus.
Moreover, Cypriot residents in July traveled to other popular destinations around the world, such as the United States of America (3,012) and the United Arab Emirates (1,839).
