The Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, George Nicolettos, has met with the internationally renowned brand strategist, Peter Economides, on the occasion of the launch of the study for the formation of the Municipality's strategic brand as a destination.
According to a Municipality press release, this strategy aims to create a unified place brand identity and brand narrative, which will enhance the reputation, recognition and differentiation of the region in the global competition of destinations.
"Peter Economides is one of the most important brand strategists internationally, with a long career in New York, Mexico and Athens. He was a top executive at McCann Erickson and on Apple's global team, where he collaborated with Steve Jobs on the iconic "Think Different" repositioning," the press release notes.
It continues, "Through his company Felix BNI, he has undertaken strategic projects around the world, specialises in place branding and has formulated strategies for countries, cities and businesses, from Mexico to Cyprus. His work focuses on connecting brand, culture and collective identity, with the aim of strengthening competitiveness and reputation."
In his statement, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia expressed his satisfaction with the start of the process of implementing the Municipality's strategic planning.
Nicolettos emphasised that this project will form the foundation for the emergence of a unified, authentic and competitive identity of the Municipality at an international level.
At the same time, he thanked the dozens of private companies that support this strategic project with their sponsorship, noting that their contribution is not only financial, but mainly strategic, as it demonstrates the collective will of the business world to actively contribute to shaping the future image and narrative of the Municipality.
