The redevelopment of Agios Mamas Square in the Troulloi Municipal District of Aradippou Municipality is expected to cost more than €2 million. The project has been initially selected for co-financing by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development of the European Union.
According to an announcement by the Municipality of Aradippou, the proposal, which was submitted under the Rural Development Programme 2014–2020 and the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan 2023–2027, has been positively evaluated and provisionally chosen for co-financing by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
“The redevelopment of Agios Mamas Square in the Troulloi Municipal District is a substantial intervention aimed at improving the functionality, aesthetics and accessibility of this central community landmark, while also strengthening social cohesion, cultural activity and local development,” the announcement said.
According to the same announcement, the project includes:

Upgrading the central square with modern, durable materials,

Improving the road network within the project’s perimeter and placing utility services underground,

Installing urban equipment such as benches, lighting fixtures and waste bins,

Tree planting and creating green spaces to enhance the natural landscape.
In addition, an events stage will be constructed to host cultural activities, while the surrounding area of both the new and old Church of Agios Mamas will be landscaped, with particular attention to improving accessibility for pedestrians and people with disabilities.
The Mayor of Aradippou, Christodoulos Partou, stated that “the redevelopment of Agios Mamas Square in the Troulloi Municipal District is a visionary project that will breathe new life into the community and substantially upgrade residents’ daily lives.”
He added that the new infrastructure “will enrich the cultural life and attractiveness of the area, improve the quality of life for residents with modern urban amenities, while also contributing to the preservation and promotion of the village’s traditional character and its listed buildings.”
