The main sectors of the Cypriot economy exhibited upward trends in the period January-June 2025, according to CySTAT's 'Monthly Economic Developments' bulletin.
As stated, the bulletin includes the most important economic developments for the Cyprus economy for the latest months up to June 2025, as well as comparative data for the last four years, which were available until 12 August 2025.
Specifically, manufacturing production during the period January-May 2025 recorded an increase of 2.9% compared to January-May 2024.
It is added that total area of building permits authorised reached 928 thousand square metres during the period January-April 2025, recording an increase of 13.3% compared to January-April 2024.
Furthermore, tourist arrivals reached 1,843,013 during the period January-June 2025, compared to 1,652,475 in the corresponding period of 2024, recording an increase of 11.5%
On the contrary, according to CyStat, total registrations of motor vehicles decreased by 1.1%, reaching 25,954 during the period January-June 2025.
In particular, private saloon cars decreased to 17,058, recording a decrease of 6.3%, and light goods vehicles increased to 2,476, recording a rise of 4.5% compared to January-June 2024.
It is further noted that total imports of goods amounted to €6,495.6m for the period January-June 2025, recording an increase of 15.0%, while total exports of goods amounted to €2,624.2m, also recording an increase of 31.4%.
The Consumer Price Index increased by 0.9% during the period January-June 2025, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the service concludes.
