CIFA and UCY's Department of Accounting and Finance sign MoU

The University of Cyprus' Department of Accounting and Finance (AFN) and the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that aims to bridge university education with the dynamic Investment Funds sector.
According to a relevant press release, the MoU includes:
- CIFA's participation in the UCYAFN Internship Fair, to present internship opportunities to students.
- Granting a number of scholarships by CIFA members to students of the MSc Finance and MSc Financial Analysis postgraduate programs, with the prospect of employment.
- Promotion of financial literacy and investment information actions for the general public.
- Career orientation presentations for students, with an emphasis on employment prospects in the investment funds and finance sector in Cyprus.
- Collaboration on thesis projects, with the possibility of submitting topics by CIFA members
Department Head Professor Andreas Milidonis, stated, "The collaboration with CIFA strengthens the role of the University of Cyprus as an academic partner with a substantial connection to the labour market, offering students opportunities that combine knowledge, guidance and a real professional perspective."
CIFA President, Maria Panayiotou, noted that as the Investment Fund sector grows at a steady pace and specialised jobs increase, such collaborations are both necessary and particularly helpful for the next generation of workers in Cyprus.
The agreement reflects the Department's strategy of extroversion, contributing to the formation of an environment where academic excellence meets the needs of the modern economy. At the same time, it best captures CIFA's commitment to tangible participation in shaping the Cypriot economy of tomorrow, the press release concluded.
