Green light for Hadassah Healthcare Park in Lakatamia
08:48 - 09 July 2025

The private mixed-use hospital development named Hadassah Healthcare Park, owned by Osopil Ltd, has received approval from the Department of Environment. This groundbreaking project, which entered public consultation last March, will be built within the administrative boundaries of Lakatamia Municipality.
It represents a pioneering initiative in Cyprus, aiming to transform the landscape of high-end medical services and rehabilitation on the island.
Catalyst for educational and economic growth
This expansive development is multifaceted and expected to deliver significant benefits. In addition to a hospital facility, it will incorporate a medical university, biotech office spaces, and student dormitories.
According to the Environmental Authority’s report, the primary goal of the project is to provide healthcare and treatment services.
The university and biotechnology offices are also expected to boost medical education and contribute to the local economy.
Once operational, the development will create new job opportunities and enhance the socioeconomic fabric of the Lakatamia area.
Construction works are expected to be completed within 24 months.
Project components and location
As detailed in the Environmental Department’s assessment, the mixed-use complex will include:

- A five-storey private hospital with 156 inpatient beds, outpatient clinics, a floor for mechanical systems, and a basement level.
- A five-storey medical university, including one mechanical floor, with a maximum capacity of 900 students.

- A five-storey commercial building designed for biotechnology offices, again including a mechanical floor.
- A six-storey student housing building, including a mechanical floor.
- Ground-level parking areas, and photovoltaic panels to be installed on the rooftops.

The proposed development will be situated on plots of land in the Ayia Paraskevi parish of Lakatamia Municipality.
Nearby landmarks include the THOI Lakatamia football stadium (approximately 440 meters to the northwest), the Mangli lake (around 650 meters northwest), and the linear park of the Pedieos River (roughly 520 meters to the west).
The broader Environmental Planning Area (EPA) within a 1-kilometre radius features residential properties, schools, commercial shops, public buildings, green spaces, parks, and other forms of urban development.
