Philippos Soseilos: Cyprus is open, Cyprus is evolving, and Cyprus is ready

"At PwC Cyprus, we are proud to have supported the Invest Cyprus International Investment Awards for over a decade. Each year, this event reminds us that foreign direct investment is a vital pillar of economic growth and a catalyst for transformation," CEO Philippos Soseilos has said, addressing the 13th Invest Cyprus International Investment Awards 2025.

Speaking at the Nicosia event, which is presented by PwC Cyprus, Soseilos went on to note, "FDIs also help a small country like Cyprus to navigate the era of global mega trend we are all witnessing in the last couple of years and which will become even bigger and more systemic in the near feature. FDIs strengthen our infrastructure, accelerate innovation, create jobs, and elevate Cyprus’ standing as a strategic regional hub for business and technology."

While also talking about why 2025 has been a turning point for PwC with the company entering a new chapter on a global scale as it embraced a refreshed brand identity, Soseilos also called for a united effort to help Cyprus become an even stronger investment destination.

"I believe that everyone here tonight, wishes for Cyprus to become a triple-A investment destination. To do that, we must deepen even more the collaboration across public and private sectors, invest in infrastructure and talent, and remove friction from the business environment. We must also tell our story better—to the world and to ourselves. And tonight, that story is clear: Cyprus is open, Cyprus is evolving, and Cyprus is ready," he said.

Dear Friends,

It is a great honour to be with you again at this important celebration of international investment in Cyprus—a ceremony that showcases excellence and honors the vision and confidence of those who choose to invest in our country.

The path to growth must also be a path to resilience. And that means sustainable, ring-fenced development built on trust, transparency, and long-term value.

We are encouraged by recent progress. Credit rating upgrades, responsible fiscal management, and renewed investor confidence signal that we are moving in the right direction. But we must not settle. As PwC Cyprus, we have taken a leading role in shaping the Vision 2035 project, which aims to transform Cyprus into the best place to live, work and do business—and we continue to actively advocate in that direction.

However, I believe that 2035 is no longer a sufficient horizon. Change is accelerating so rapidly that what we once expected to see by 2035 will likely arrive much sooner. Our perspective must now extend to 2050—or even 2100—if we truly want to consider the needs and aspirations of future generations.
