OMIROS acquires Hadjipieris Dairy and plans to invest €30m in Cyprus over next five years

Greek dairy export company OMIROS has announced the acquisition of the Cypriot dairy company A. Hadjipieris Ltd., through its subsidiary, OMIROS DAIRIES CYPRUS.

With this strategic move, OMIROS is taking a decisive step in consolidating its presence in international markets, in the field of PDO products with international recognition.

The acquisition of A. HADJIPIERIS LTD, a historic and renowned company in the field of Halloumi and traditional sheep's yogurt, constitutes an important milestone for OMIROS in its long-standing successful course.

It marks the addition of a third production unit - the first outside of Greek borders - to the company's portfolio.

At the same time, it is the starting point of a new path of knowledge, innovation, creative development and success in the field of Halloumi for the third generation of the Giannitsis family.

The company's project in Cyprus and the General Management of OMIROS DAIRIES CYPRUS LTD have been undertaken by Ioannis Billis, an executive with many years of experience and knowledge in the dairy industry, in both Greece and Cyprus.

The investment plan for the first step, amounting to €5 million, concerns the immediate expansion and modernisation of existing facilities, with the aim of producing 5,500 tons of PDO Halloumi annually.

The company is also moving forward with the purchase of industrial land, with the aim of constructing, within the next three years, a new state-of-the-art factory with the capacity to produce 12,000 tons of PDO Halloumi.

This investment is expected to create new jobs, substantially contributing to the strengthening of local employment.

Total investments in Cyprus, for the next five years, will reach €30 million, confirming the Group's commitment to long-term growth, support of the Cypriot economy and the creation of new conditions that inspire respect for employees, partners and the wider environment in general.

With respect for Cypriot tradition, local values and cultural identity, OMIROS is committed to preserving and highlighting the authentic character of Cypriot PDO Halloumi.

Through its new structure and subsidiaries AGROLACT and OMIROS DAIRIES CYPRUS, the OMIROS Group is strengthening its strategic focus and evolves into a modern, vertically integrated and export-oriented dairy products organisation, ready to lead internationally in the field of traditional products of high nutritional value and non-negotiable quality.
