Digital Assistant gives over 115,000 answers to citizens' questions in first six months

Six months after its official launch, the government's Digital Assistant has answered more than 115,000 citizen questions, offering immediate, reliable and continuous service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy has announced.

The Deputy Ministry continued that, utilising artificial intelligence technologies, the Digital Assistant is "constantly evolving into a valuable information and support tool for the citizen's everyday life. Through continuous enhancement with new thematic modules , it facilitates access to information and simplifies the relationship between citizens and businesses with public administration."

Beyond the gov.cy portal , the Digital Assistant is also available through the " Digital Citizen" application, and the Treasury of the Republic of Cyprus' new Public Procurement website (www.publicprocurement.gov.cy).

Citizens can submit their questions either in writing or orally, utilising the voice submission function.

The full list of topics currently covered by the Digital Assistant is available at the link: www.gov.cy/o-psifiakos-voithos .

As part of its continuous upgrade, the Digital Assistant has recently been enriched with new thematic modules that concern, among others, the Educational Service Commission and the Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities.

Citizens can now obtain information on issues concerning the lists of appointable and appointable teachers, the appointment procedures (permanent probationary appointments, appointments with fixed-term and indefinite contracts, appointments to replacement positions ), the transfers and promotion process of educational officers, as well as the Pedagogical Training Program.

At the same time, information is now provided on the social benefits of the Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, with guidance on the necessary supporting documents and a reference to the official website for additional information and submission of applications.

"The Digital Assistant is constantly being enriched and evolved, confirming its role as a digital portal for citizens' direct access to information.

It is the face of a modern public administration: accessible , direct, friendly and efficient. Its evolution is progressing steadily, to become one of the main channels of communication between citizens and the state in the new digital era," the announcement said.

"The Deputy Ministry continues with consistency and determination to strengthen the state's digital toolbox, strengthening citizens' trust in technology and bringing the state closer to the people," it concluded.
