Government implementing plans to support people affected by wildfires

The Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance will implement a financial support plan for employees who are directly affected by wildfires and are unable to work in the coming period.

According to an announcement, the decision was taken following a consultation with the President of the Republic.

The scheme will cover the loss of wages for those affected, including both employees and self-employed workers, and the amount of the financial benefit will be calculated with reference to the available figures recorded during the previous period by the authorities.

The plan will operate with the aim of timely payment of the benefit to the beneficiaries, in order for them to be able to become professionally active again.
