The Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia has submitted an application to the Famagusta District Officer (EOA Ammochostou) for the creation of a central square in the municipal district of Paralimni.
The proposed central square will include an event space, a park, and a monument area, and will be landscaped with tree planting.

The project’s cost is estimated at around €5 million. As part of this, the Municipality has requested co-financing from the Department of Town Planning and Housing, proposing that the project be classified as an urban development project so it can receive appropriate funding.

Amended application for the redevelopment of Paralimni's core
At the same time, the Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia has also submitted a revised application to the Famagusta District Officer for the redevelopment of the core of Paralimni’s municipal district.
This application includes the removal of pedestrianisation in the town center — a decision taken by the Municipal Council — and outlines upgrade works to the existing paved area. These works involve tree planting, the creation of open square areas, parking spaces, and other features.
The cost of this second project is estimated at approximately €8 million, and the Municipality has likewise requested co-financing from the Department of Town Planning and Housing, proposing this project also be included as an urban development initiative.
It is noted that the consultants and supervisors for both projects are A.F. Modinos & S.A. Vrahimis Chartered Architects & Engineers.
