Interior Ministry launches SafeCY application to help citizens locate nearest shelter

The SafeCY mobile application has been launched, through which, when the need arises, citizens can at any time and in real time locate the nearest shelter.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Interior, the application is available for Android devices (via PlayStore) and IOS (via AppStore), in Greek and English.

As stated, through the app, citizens can locate the nearest shelters in the area they are currently in, while there is an option to search for a shelter in other ways, such as by address, postal code, etc. Guidelines and useful information have also been integrated into the application to provide citizens with more complete information.

"With the SafeCY application, the possibilities provided by modern technology for strengthening the early warning mechanism of the population are utilised. The development and operation of the application reflect the State's objectives to strengthen the protection of citizens, especially in cases of emergencies, where quick and immediate information is required," the statement concludes.
