Sklavenitis Cyprus: Renovation and integration plan for Papantoniou stores in full swing

Sklavenitis Cyprus is actively implementing its comprehensive plan to fully integrate Papantoniou Supermarkets into its store network. So far, three Papantoniou locations have been renovated, integrated, and are now operating fully under the Sklavenitis supermarket concept.

As a reminder, the acquisition agreement for Papantoniou Supermarkets was finalized in November 2024, adding nine new locations to the Sklavenitis Cyprus network. This brought the total number of stores across Cyprus to 27.

End-of-year integration target

The company aims to complete the renovation and full integration of all nine Papantoniou stores into the Sklavenitis Cyprus network by the end of the year. Simultaneously, the goal is to finalise the legal and tax aspects of the acquisition within the same timeframe.

As previously reported, this acquisition reshapes the food retail landscape in Cyprus. It is seen as a move that strengthens the market presence of Sklavenitis, creating a new chain with an estimated annual turnover nearing €400 million. While not officially stated, the company’s strategic ambition appears to be achieving second place in market share initially, with a long-term goal of becoming the market leader.
