Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, George Papanastasiou is in Marseille to represent Cyprus at the 2025 Raisina Mediterranean international geopolitical conference.

A press release by the Ministry says that the conference is the first Mediterranean edition of the Raisina Dialogue, one of the most important international geopolitical fora co-organised by the Observer Research Foundation and the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

"The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) is expected to be the central topic of the discussions," it adds.

Papanastasiou will on 13 June participate in a roundtable discussion entitled 'The Leviathan Wakes: The Re-Emergence of Europe as a Global Actor.'

Aiming at highlighting the strategic role that Cyprus can play in the implementation of IMEC, the Minister will hold meetings with the Italian Special Envoy for IMEC Francesco Talò, as well as with the Chairman and CEO of the French group of transshipment companies CMA CGM Rodolphe Saadé.

The Minister returns to Cyprus on 14 June.
