EU FMs discuss international developments during Gymnich, Kombos holds discussions with counterparts

EU Foreign Ministers discussed international developments during their informal meeting (Gymnich) that took place in Warsaw on 7 and 8 May. Cyprus was represented by Foreign Minister, Constantinos Kombos who, on the sidelines of the meeting, had discussions with some of his counterparts. 

A press release issued by the Foreign Ministry said that during the meeting the Ministers had the opportunity to exchange views on the current international developments, focusing on the ongoing Russian offensive against Ukraine, as well as the relations of the EU with the USA. 

In the framework of the Gymnich, the Foreign Ministers exchanged views and discussed with the UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, as regards the situation in Ukraine and developments in the Middle East and Sudan, it is added. 

Moreover, Kombos had short discussions with Lammy, with the Foreign Minister of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, and with the Foreign Minister of Serbia, Marko Đurić.

According to the press release, after the conclusion of the Gymnich, Kombos participated in an informal working lunch hosted by the Foreign Minister of Poland as regards hybrid threats for the Foreign Ministers of nine candidate and potential candidate for EU membership partners.
