President visits Hellas Sat premises in Athens

President Nikos Christodoulides visited the premises of the satellite communications company Hellas Sat in Koropi, Attica, on 6 May, where he was given a tour of the company's facilities by its CEO, Christodoulos Protopapas.

The president was informed about its activities in the field of satellite systems and communications, and their applications for defence purposes, which are carried out by its specialised personnel at the two privately owned satellite control stations located in Cyprus and Greece.

The President of the Republic of Cyprus was also informed about the capabilities of the three Hellas Sat 2, 3 and 4 satellites currently in orbit and the company's plans for the launch of the future Hellas Sat 5 satellite.

President Christodoulides highlighted the importance of modern telecommunications and congratulated both Protopapas and the Hellas Sat staff for their contribution in efforts to further Cyprus' technological upgrade in this field.
