Marios Tannousis: 2023 and 2024 were record years for foreign direct investment in Cyprus

Marios Tannousis, CEO of Invest Cyprus, offered a broad overview highlighting Cyprus as a hub for international business and a compelling destination for foreign investment, in his opening address at the “7th Doing Business in Cyprus Summit: Cyprus – The ultimate hub for business work and Lifestyle”, organised by IMH and Invest Cyprus in Tel Aviv.

In his general presentation of Cyprus’ economy, sectors and recent developments, Tannousis offered an outline of the structure of the Cypriot economy, its key sectors, and the latest trends or developments.

Tannousis also highlighted the island’s recent economic successes, including its rising GDP, low unemployment rates, and upgrades in credit ratings.

He went on to explain “Vision 2035” – Cyprus’ Strategy for its society and economy for the next 15 years, which aims to transform Cyprus into one of the world’s best places to live, work and do business – presenting the long-term strategic plan and how it is shaping the updated national approach to attracting foreign investment.

Pointing out that 2023 and 2024 were record years for foreign direct investment in Cyprus, Tannousis offered an overview of Cyprus’ investment environment.

Finally, he presented Invest Cyprus’ vision and role, and explained how it supports investors.
