Punin Group has announced the acquisition of the renowned Hadjiantonas Winery, located in the village of Parekklisia, Limassol, and its complete transformation into Chateau Punin, Cyprus’ first winery built in the true château tradition.

"This visionary estate will become the future home of an exceptional Pinot Noir wine, set to debut in 2030," Punin Group said in a press release, adding that this milestone marks a key step in Punin Group’s strategic expansion into the wine and spirits sector, where innovation and advanced technology are thoughtfully paired with reverence for centuries-old wine-making heritage.

A major reconstruction and modernisation initiative is planned for the estate: the expansion of facilities and ageing cellars, installation of state-of-the-art equipment, the establishment of proprietary Pinot Noir vineyards, and the creation of a Premier Grand Wine, a label destined to elevate Cyprus’ presence on the global wine map.

2

The cultivation of Pinot Noir in Cyprus is a bold and pioneering endeavour, uniting acclaimed winemakers, agronomists, and wine critics from around the world. Chateau Punin said it aims to revolutionise the local industry. "For the first time, Cyprus will serve as the terroir for producing one of the world’s most refined and challenging grape varieties," it said.

3

Dmitriy Punin, founder of Punin Group, stated: "Chateau Punin is raising the bar for Cypriot wine-making. By introducing the château model and launching Pinot Noir production, we are merging tradition with bold innovation to redefine what Cyprus can offer the world in fine wine.”

4

With Chateau Punin, Dmitriy Punin is not only introducing a new level of wine-making excellence to Cyprus, but also establishing a world-class château model, where every stage of production, from hand-harvesting the grapes to bottling, is carried out on-site. This integrated, estate-driven approach, emblematic of the most prestigious wine regions in the world, guarantees meticulous quality control and an authentic expression of the terroir. Housed in an architecturally significant building, Chateau Punin will stand as a cultural and aesthetic landmark, a seamless fusion of tradition, craftsmanship, and innovation.
