€7 million three-storey parking lot in the works in Paralimni

A three-story parking lot costing close to €7 million is being built in the Municipality of Paralimni with the aim of reducing the parking problem observed in its centre.

According to an announcement by Paralimni Deryneia Municipality, the company N. Gavriel & Sons Ltd began work on the project in early March and it is set to continue for will last for 18 months, according to the contract signed with the company.

The building, which is being built in the center of Paralimni on Antonis Papadopoulou Street and next to the Town Hall, will include three floors and will have a capacity of 296 parking spaces, including 17 for people with disabilities and three for electric cars. There will also be an elevator for citizens’ convenience.

According to the announcement, "the completion of the project is expected to greatly reduce the parking problem observed in the centre of Paralimni and will help to improve the number of visits to the Municipality's commercial centre."

It is noted that "the cost of the project amounts to €6,762,520 and it is co-financed by five-sixths by the Department of Town Planning and Housing, as an urban development project.
