Index of Industrial Output Prices down by 0.5% in February

The Index of Industrial Output Prices for February 2025 reached 121.7 units (base 2021=100), down by 0.5% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, according to data published by CySTAT.

Compared to February 2024, an increase was recorded in the sectors of mining and quarrying (4.5%), water supply and materials recovery (0.5%) and manufacturing (0.3%), while a decrease was recorded in the electricity supply sector by 4.8%.

By division of economic activity in manufacturing, in February 2025 compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, increases were recorded in the manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (6.8%), the manufacture of furniture, other manufacturing and repair and installation of machinery and equipment (4.4%), the manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel and leather products (3.3%), the manufacture of paper and paper products and printing (3.1%), the manufacture of refined petroleum products, chemicals and chemical products and pharmaceutical products and preparations (2.2%) and the manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment (2%), while a decrease was recorded in the manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products (-1.4%) and the manufacture of wood and products of wood and cork, except furniture (-0.1%).

In February 2025, compared to January 2025, the index recorded a decrease of 0.2%, with the largest increase recorded in the sectors of mining and quarrying by 3.4%, water supply and materials recovery by 0.7% and electricity supply by 0.1%, while it showed a decrease in the sector of manufacturing by 0.3%.

For the period January-February 2025, the index showed a decrease of 0,4% compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
