A total of 61 bounced cheques worth €156,564 issued in Q1 of 2025

A total of 61 bounced cheques worth €156,564 were recorded in the first three months of 2025, marking a 35% increase in value compared to the same period in 2024, according to data published by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

In comparison, during the same period in 2024, 76 cheques worth €115,375 had been issued.

During the first three months of 2025, 24 persons were listed on the Central Information Registry (CIR), including 9 legal entities, 9 natural persons, and 6 natural persons controlling legal entities.

In March, 11 bounced cheques worth €72,009 were issued, while 9 persons (8 legal entities and 1 natural person) were listed in the preliminary registry.

Additionally, in March, 6 persons were registered on the CIR (3 legal entities, 1 natural person, and 2 natural persons controlling legal entities).
