Designing the Future: Architectural Innovation in a Changing World

The future is shaped by creativity, technology and the need for new approaches that respond to ever-evolving conditions. Architectural innovation is no longer just a matter of aesthetics—it has become a tool for adaptation, resilience, and progress.

From sustainable constructions that harness natural resources to smart urban environments redefining the concept of living, architecture serves as a bridge between the present and the needs of the future. Climate change, technology, and social demands are shaping new realities, making the design of tomorrow a process that requires imagination, innovation, and strategic thinking.

But how can these elements be successfully combined? Find out in the keynote speech by Christos Passas, Design Director at Zaha Hadid Architects, who will take the stage at the 19th Property Development and Construction Conference & Exhibition. Passas will share his insights on "Designing the Future – Architectural Innovation in a Changing World.

Design Director at Zaha Hadid Architects and lead architect for major projects and competitions worldwide, Passas brings over 25 years of experience in landmark developments such as the Technopark Headquarters for Sberbank, the Oppo Headquarters, the Discovery Tower, and the Trojena Mountain Observatory. His portfolio also includes the OPUS Dubai, Eleftheria Square, and most notably, the Phaeno Science Center.

He has taught at the Architectural Association and Bauhaus Dessau, specialising in parametric design and urban planning. As a visionary leader in architecture, he has spearheaded projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, focusing on sustainability, digital design, and the future of urban eco-technological habitats. His work aligns with the UN's 2030 Sustainability Agenda, bridging ecology and technology through innovative architectural solutions.

The event will take place on Thursday, 20 March, 2025, at the Hilton Nicosia Hotel, featuring a diverse agenda and the participation of leading speakers from the real estate sector, technology, government institutions, and financial organizations.
