CySTAT: Harmonised Consumer Prices Index up 2.3% y-o-y in February

The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) rose by 2.3% between February 2024 and February 2025, and increased by 0.3% in the month between January 2025 and February 2025, according to CySTAT.

Compared to February 2024, the categories Recreation and Culture (7.2%) and Restaurants and Hotels (4.7%) showed the highest increases, while the category Clothing and Footwear (-4.9%) recorded the largest negative changes.

In comparison to January 2025, the most significant changes were observed in the categories Transport (1.2%) and Clothing and Footwear (0.8%).

For the period January – February 2025, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the most significant changes were recorded in the categories Recreation and Culture (7.3%), Restaurants and Hotels (4.7%), and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (3.9%).

The most significant changes in economic categories compared to February 2024 were observed in the categories Services (4.3%) and Energy (3.4%), while compared to the previous month, the largest change was recorded in the Energy category (1.2%).
